Bandol Rosé Blend 2023

Very light salmon in color.

Strong nose of limes, grapefruits, light red fruits, citrus, green apples, earth and minerals.

Medium bodied with medium acidity. Crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with light strawberries, limes, grapefruits, bitter herbs and earth.

Tangy finish with limes and light earth.

This is a refreshing Rosé from Bandol. Well balanced and easy drinking. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.

Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already starting to drink very nicely.

Good by itself or with food.

91 points.

Bonneau du Martray

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2011

A pristine bottle tonight, and I particularly love the vintage for the producer, as it captures the perfect balance of richness and focus. It’s exceptionally detailed, powerful and layered with lemon cream pie-white flower aromatics with a deep, creamy and mineral inflicted palate. In top shape, and may even outlast the surrounding 10/12 vintages which are almost always premoxed. — 18 days ago

Wow this packs a punch! Can smell the glass 30 cm away from your face. As it got warmer almost sherry-like but still very enjoyable. Will drink again. — 2 days ago

Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Brut Champagne 2012

Bright lemonade, notes, chalk, zesty. An oily texture with hints of lime, slate and a sweetness. Surprisingly approachable given its age and great balance and definition. Long and delicious. From mag. — 18 days ago

'S' Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut Chardonnay 1996

No formal notes . Medium lemon colour . Quite a lot of very fine bubbles still . Quite young in appearance. Elegant and relatively youthful with citrus , white flowers, baked pastry , good freshness with mineral, oyster shell notes. On the palate very high acidity , really marked by that taut profile but still enough creamy mouthfeel to make this very complete with a pastry , citrus and mineral focused finish . Very intense and long. Drinking perfectly now and over the next 5-10 years — 6 days ago

Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2009

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour or so. No formal notes due to the setting. The 2009 seems to break from the reputation of the vintage with a freshness and verve that surprises. The typical quality of Cristal is there with its persistent mousse and attractive texture. Good acid too. Pretty tasty stuff and I’m not sure I would ever turn down a glass of this. Drink now through 2039. — 17 days ago
