100 per cent Syrah. A very nice Crozes Hermitage that will provide a day to day solution for those of you who like Hermitage wines. May 2025. — 2 months ago
This was rich and delicious especially with a tasty steak kabob. — 2 months ago
I was going through my La Chapelle section today and my eyes got stuck on this 1999 - bottle looked absolutely pristine and I decided it was a perfect age to drink. Cork was in great condition and the wine was powerful and youthful with no signs of oxidation. Could have kept the bottle for a few more years, but it was probably perfect today. All the complex leathery earthy goodness you expect from this wine was there. — 3 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours and it needed it. The 2017 Bienvenue Bâtard-Montrachet pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, this was initially quite shy but after a couple of hours, the nose exploded into a veritable cornucopia: apples, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon curd, honeysuckle, flint, gentle warm spices and a mix of chalky and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A banger. Drink now with patience; better after 2027 and through 2042. — 3 days ago
Forgot to take detailed notes, but this was nice. Not really any carbonic / natural / “new agey”notes, just a solid classically made gamay. Definitely has some structure, opened 4 hours before serving which was good. Didn’t sing on any one dimension of fruit / earth / acid / length / texture but was nice overall. — a month ago
Bordeaux Blend- Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Cabernet Franc 15%, Merlot 15% 2018 was wet season and this impacted the normally bold style.
It is still full bodied - deep ruby red colour - but t’s a more lighter, elegant classic style, with blackcurmat red berry and cassis. So what is lost in power is replaced by a more refined and elegant wine.

Very good drinker. Not much complexity, but velvety smooth. A tad dry on the finish but pared well with the NY strip. 2008 vintage. — 12 days ago
