This wine pours a purpleish red. It has a modest but very fragrant nose. It has flavors of some vanilla, oak, herbs, and then fresh red fruits like strawberries and raspberries. It has outstanding tannins and a little bit of acidity. As such, it went perfectly with the grass fed ribeye steaks, we paired it with. Being a “diamond reserve“ from Trader Joe’s, this was much anticipated. It didn’t disappoint. I have a second bottle that I’ll open in a few months and see how it goes. I probably will go back and get a few more bottles for the future. #traderjoes #cabernet #oakville — 4 years ago
Simple ripe red and black fruit. Almost no secondary or tertiary aromas or flavors. Acidity seems unbalanced, seems high because it lacks the body and the fruit to balance it. #bolgheri #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon — 5 years ago
I tried this wine and the less expensive Carmenere and a wine called Anka by the same winery and this was definitely the best of the three, that being said, I found it very good but not outstanding. It is very aromatic, but almost too intense and too perfumey. There was a noticeable amount of residual sugar. Still, enjoyable and interesting. #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon #cabernetfranc #merlot #chile — 6 years ago
Just okay. Really. Nothing to write home about. Lacking mid-palate and slightly too acidic seeming. #napavalley #cabernet — 6 years ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here's a fantastic #Cabernet from #NapaValley.
Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Strong fruity nose with black currants, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cola, chocolates, mocha, coffee, alcohol, earth, leather, smoke, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Full bodied and gentle with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, coffee, raisins, chocolates, mocha, earth, leather, coke, tobacco and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Very enjoyable by itself or with food.
Still showing the high alcohol. Not fully balance yet, but so tasty. Still young, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature and bring out more complexity.
Delicious and yummy.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats, cheeses and pickled vegetables.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 18 months (70% new).
15.6% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

Medium viscosity; dark, glass-painter. Warm cherries in black and deep red with brownie and tiramisu notes. Nano star anise, black pepper, and tea. These on the nose. Sublime mouthfeel showcases the blackberry, black currant, boysenberry, coffe and sweet tobacco notes that rotate into a persistent resonance.

I agree with a few others that have mentioned it’s roughness, it seems like the tannins are a little coarse. Lovely aromas with a perfume of #cabernet and #tempranillo for some reason on the palate it seemed more like a Rioja than a #riberadelduero — 3 years ago
Red and black cherry notes, cranberry sauce, roses, cinnamon rye-toast, integrated black currant, touch of leather. Smoky entry with grilled brown sugar, clove, and black olive, grill cedar, powdered black pepper, dried black currant, and bitter cocoa.

Medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (plum, cherry and prune) with secondary aromas of oak (cedar, smoke and dark chocolate) and just beginning to show some tertiary aromas and flavors of tobacco leaf and prunes. The wine has medium(+) acidity, medium(+) fine grained textural tannins and medium(+) body. The finish is medium (+) and while slightly grippy, those tannins are ripe and it’s that structure which will give it the ability to age in bottle for another 5/7 years. There is enough fruit and defined aromas and flavors to balance the acidity and the tannins which want to be the protagonista of this wine. A solid Claret. #saintestephe #bordeaux #grandvindebordeaux #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon #merlot and just 5% #petitverdot — 6 years ago

Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Underrated. An aromatic, smooth beauty. Aged really well. This is showing its best now. Love it.
リリースされた当時はあまり評価されなかったワインですが、17年の時を経て、ふくよかで芳醇なワインになっていました。熟成されまさに飲み頃です。素晴らしい。

Bodegas Caro “Petit Caro” Malbec-Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (Argentine)
Caro is a collaboration between Catena and Rothschild. Pop and Pour. Wow, weightless. Great mouthfeel. Great QPR. Neither Malbec nor Cabernet Sauvignon stands out. All blended in, becoming an easy-to-drink pleasant wine.

Enjoyable prosaic #cabernet #merlot (55% / 45%) blend. Cassis, black/purple fruit pretty prominent on the nose, some earthy notes as it opens up. Good acidity on palate, nice concentration of rich fruit from the merlot with earth and tannins from the cab - pretty good QPR on this one. — 2 years ago
Rim to rim color density. Red and black cherries poke through cedar and sweet tobacco on the nose with dark chocolate chunks, plum, prune and date, toasted sesame, cinnamon, rose petal, and cardamom. Chewy tannins that roll satin-smooth initially, then cassis, black currant and licorice flip the script. Graphite and blackberry frame dark chocolate and mocha-tobacco, oak and black bread.

Blood ruby pushing purple. Black and red licorice wound around a core of dusty oak. Smoky, with smells of cigar boxes and dried violets, roses and a potpourri of others including heather and light lavender. Tight still with a bing cherry middle, red currant, tart blueberry and boysenberry. Baked plum unravels to the aforementioned oak with a cedar-cigar and pronounced oak exposure. Wound tight in some places, and unraveling slowly in others.

Deep black color like the label. On the nose medium + aromas of black fruit ( ripe kirsch, ripe cassis creme de cassis and blackberry jam) hints of ash, toast and cedar. On the palate the wine is rich lush and very “#Mediterranean while being pure pure #Cabernet. Burgundy bottle for Cab! I appreciate it a ton but I don’t love it. Aging incredibly well. 2007 in 2020 — 6 years ago

Really ripe and rich. Too much me thinks. The freshness and crisp texture that I love in the #sangiovese grape has been lost in a blend with #cabernet and #merlot Oh yeah and then there’s the price! Completely too expensive, average price is about 120€ in Europe with no VAT included. #biondisanti #toscano #tuscany #italy Castello di Montepo is a Tuscan wine estate in the Scansano district of #Maremma Toscana, founded in the 1990s by Jacopo Biondi Santi of the famous Montalcino family.

2011 Spottswoode Family Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (The 30th Anniversary Bottling)
I could not wait any longer and decided to open this. Trust the producer. 2011 was a difficult year, but the very top winemakers make great wines under the most difficult condition. Cassis, dark chocolate, plum, mint, herbs, pencil and minerals. Lighter than expected. Medium-bodied. Delicious. Would love to compare it with their 2010 vintage which RP gave 100 points.

Inky cab with purple-tinged blood blackness from rim to rim. Glass painter with star bright reflectivity. Viscous Frankenstein hair tears over glacial-carved canyon. Nose of black cherry, raisinated currant, light toast, lighter pepper, carnation, violet, licorice, blackberries with honey. Mouth-coating with a luxurious mouthfeel showing silky tannins with a modicum of grain. Cassis, graphite, baked blueberry, black currant. Sustain. Bold and unabashed.
